Profile

Sevtap Akbulut is a Professor of Otorhinolaryngology and Head & Neck Surgery subspecializing in laryngology and phoniatry. She is a Fellow of the European Board of Otolaryngology and Head & Neck Surgery.
Prof. Akbulut graduated from Hacettepe University School of Medicine in Ankara in 1995. She completed her residency at the Department of Otolaryngology and Head & Neck Surgery in Istanbul in 2002. She received her laryngology training at George Washington University Voice Treatment Center in Washington D.C.,USA in 2004 and also at University of Pittsburgh Voice Center in Pittsburgh, USA in 2014.
She got her Associate Professorship Degree in Otolaryngology and Head & Neck Surgery in 2016, then her Professorship Degree in 2021. Her special interests include voice disorders, professional and singing voice care, voice feminization and voice deepening surgeries, dysphagia and associated swallowing disorders, neurolaryngology and laryngeal EMG.
She has more than 50 scientific studies published in international and national peer-reviewed journals. She has been author of many book chapters, and book translations in her field. She lectures and makes presentations in international and national conferences and actively participates in workshops, hands-on courses related to laryngology and phoniatry as a trainer.
Located in Istanbul, Turkey, Prof. Akbulut has also received music education and sings. She is the National Coordinator of the Union of European Phoniatricians and the previous president of Turkish Voice Speech and Swallowing Disorders Society.
